The East Texas Symphony Orchestra board has hired Vanessa Gardner as its executive director.
Ms. Gardner’s experience includes serving as general manager of the Lexington Symphony in Lexington, Massachusetts, according to the announcement.
She replaces Nancy Wrenn, who retired last year.
Ms. Gardner also has served as events manager for The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, program coordinator for Northeast Center for the Arts and Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar and as assistant director of Office of External Events & Conference Housing at Northeastern University.
She also is a professional musician who plays the French horn.
Ms. Gardner will assume her new post Monday.
