Church revivals, Vacation Bible School among upcoming faith-based events

CITYWIDE FOOD DRIVE

New Days Community Church, 901 N. Broadway Ave., will put on a citywide food drive to benefit the PATH Food Pantry from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 24. Community members are urged to help fight hunger by bringing nonperishable food or financial donations to the church’s parking lot during the event.

 

DEAN BAPTIST

Dean Baptist Church, 11567 County Road 1141 in Tyler, will celebrate its 145th anniversary on Sunday. Sunday school is scheduled for 10 a.m. followed by worship at 11 a.m. Former staff and members are encouraged to attend. Bob Sexton is the interim pastor. Call 903-849-4198 for more information.

 

CHURCH REVIVAL

Hopewell CME Church, 20180 Farm-to-Market Road 850 in Arp, will have its annual revival starting Sunday. Pastor is the Rev. Lonnie Johnson. The revival schedule is as follows: 3 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Orenthia Mason of St. James CME; 7 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Marquise Collins of Mt. Olive Baptist Church; 7 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Leroy Redwine of Wesley Chapel CME; and 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Alfred Nelson III of Gee’s Memorial Church of God in Christ.

 

CHURCH REVIVAL

St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1020 S. Lyons Ave., in Tyler will have its Annual Homecoming and Revival at 3 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to Friday.

 

CHURCH NURSERY DONATIONS                                                                           

The members of Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, in Tyler, are requesting donations from the public to update the church nursery. Gently used or new nursery items will be accepted. KID’S CRUSADE

Christ Community Church, 5625 N. Loop 256 in Palestine, will have a Kid’s Crusade for children ages 4 and up June 23-25. Youth and adults are welcome to attend. There is no registration fee, but an offering will be received in each service. Pastor Mike Muzzerall and team from Brother Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, are scheduled to speak. Service times include: 6:30 p.m. June 23; 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. June 24; and 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 25. ONE NATION UNDER GOD RALLY

The Grace Fellowship Church of Flint is planning a “One Nation Under God” rally from 3 to 5 p.m. June 25 at the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza in downtown Tyler. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Holly Brook Baptist Church, 3219 S. Farm-to-Market Road 2869, in Hawkins will focus on the stars as students become “Galactic Starveyors” during this summer’s Vacation Bible School. The annual Bible study is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon June 26 to 30. Children through sixth grade are welcome. FAITH CONFERENCE

Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle, 6808 Paluxy Drive, in Tyler, will present its 2017 Faith Conference at 7 p.m. July 13-14 on the church campus. Evangelist Madeline Kennedy is the scheduled guest speaker and Sister JuWanda Allen will serve as the featured guest psalmist. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1723 E. Front St., in Tyler will have Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 20 and 21 and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 22 for children 4 years old through completed fifth grade.
