One of Smith County's Most Wanted was arrested Thursday morning after being recognized on the Smith County Sheriff's Office's App.

Christopher M. Ramirez, 36, of Chandler, was arrested for the alleged assault and bodily injury of a family member. Deputies also charged him with possession of methamphetamine, according to a Smith County Sheriff's Office Facebook post.

The sheriff’s office received the tip around 10 a.m. Thursday, a news release from the office states. A caller stated they’d viewed the office’s App and saw Ramirez in the “Wanted Person” section.

The Sheriff's Office also arrested three other people when they took Ramirez into custody, two for outstanding warrants and one for possession of a controlled substance.

Residents can download the app for Apple iOS and Android devices on their phones' app stores. The service is free to download and can be found by searching for Smith County Sheriff's Office.
