Tyler police are investigating a possible alcohol-related Christmas Eve fatal crash that killed an 18-year-old Tyler man.

Police responded to a call involving a one-vehicle rollover crash that occurred about 4:20 a.m. in the 2400 block of West Northwest Loop 323.

Officers determined that the driver, Gustavo Espinoza, was deceased and two passengers in the vehicle needed medical attention.

Investigators determined Espinoza was traveling west in a small Honda passenger car on Loop 323 near U.S. Highway 69 North when the vehicle veered off the right shoulder of the roadway, causing it to roll several times.

The passengers were taken to a local hospital by EMS with injuries that were not life threatening.

Investigators observed evidence of alcohol at the scene of the crash and have requested an autopsy on Espinoza.
